To comprehensively advance preparations for the clinical medicine professional certification and elevate the quality of medical education, on March 24, a delegation led by Liu Yu, Executive Director of Ningbo University Health Science Center, visited Ningbo University Affiliated First Hospital for a special inspection. The delegation included Zhang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Ye Meng, Deputy Director; Jin Xiaofeng, Academic Deputy Director; and seven other members. Sun Jie, President of the hospital; Mao Haijiao, Vice President in charge of teaching; and heads of the Teaching Department, various teaching and research offices, and the Clinical Curriculum Quality Control Center participated in the inspection.

The inspection followed a four-step process: listening to reports, reviewing materials, visiting sites, and holding discussions. At the special briefing session, Sun Jie emphasized that undergraduate education is the fundamental mission of medical teaching. He stated that the hospital would use the professional certification as a key lever to systematically deploy and advance related work. Liu Yu highlighted that the clinical medicine professional certification is a critical measure to deepen medical-education collaboration and improve medical education quality. The Health Science Center adheres to the principle of "promoting development through certification and driving reforms through certification," working hand-in-hand with affiliated hospitals to build a high-quality medical education system and comprehensively enhance medical talent training.

The delegation visited teaching and research offices, skills training centers, and other frontline teaching units. Through detailed reviews of teaching archives, on-site observations of teaching rounds, participation in exit assessments, and in-depth interviews with student representatives, the team commended the hospital’s achievements in teaching system construction, clinical teaching supervision, curriculum management, and teaching quality. However, suggestions were also provided to address issues in areas such as standardized education, faculty development, and internship rotation programs.

This special inspection marked the official kickoff of the clinical medicine professional certification preparation process. It strengthened communication and collaboration between the Health Science Center and its affiliated hospitals, injecting momentum into the joint effort to foster the robust development of medical education.
