On the afternoon of December 18th, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the joint construction of Ningbo University's directly affiliated Yangming Hospital by Ningbo University and the People's Government of Yuyao City was held at the Yuyao Hotel. Cai Ronggen, President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vao Yongt, Deputy Secretary of the Yuyao Municipal Committee and Mayor, Xia Guanbin, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Municipal Health Commission, Zhang Zhenzhu, Deputy Secretary of the Ningbo University Party Committee, Yu Yichun, Gu Yaodong, Lang Kebin, Standing Committee Member of the Yuyao Municipal Committee and head of the Organization Department, Gao Haijun, Standing Committee Member and Executive Vice Mayor of Yuyao City, and other leaders attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Lin Ti, Deputy Mayor of Yuyao City.
Vao Yongt, Deputy Secretary of the Yuyao Municipal Committee and Mayor, delivered a speech. He first expressed gratitude for Ningbo University's support for the economic, social, and health services in Yuyao City. He pointed out that the joint construction of Ningbo University's directly affiliated Yangming Hospital by Ningbo University and the People's Government of Yuyao City is an important measure to implement the General Secretary's instructions on health work, which will further promote the development of medical disciplines and break through bottlenecks in scientific research and innovation in the county area, and will push Yuyao's health and wellness cause into the fast lane of high-quality development. He hoped that with the joint construction as an opportunity and a new starting point, both sides could leverage their respective strengths to drive scientific research innovation, discipline construction, and talent cultivation in the hospital, and achieve the goal of establishing a third-level A-class comprehensive hospital as soon as possible. He stated that the Yuyao Municipal Committee and Municipal Government would implement and refine various agreed contents, strive to create better conditions and a better environment for the cooperation in medical management, and fully develop the cooperation between both sides into a benchmark model for universities empowering local development, benefiting the people of the region.
Cai Ronggen, in his speech, believed that the signing and unveiling of the affiliated Yangming Hospital is another major and joyful event in the development history of Ningbo University and is a powerful measure to implement the "Medical Peak" plan of Ningbo City. It has milestone significance for both Ningbo University and its affiliated Yangming Hospital. He stated that Ningbo University will fully support the construction and development of the affiliated Yangming Hospital, striving to enhance the hospital's comprehensive strength and core competitiveness, and accelerate the achievement of the goal of establishing a third-level A-class comprehensive hospital. He emphasized that both sides should strengthen cooperation, innovation, and positive interaction according to the principles of complementary advantages, mutual benefit, and common development, promoting the coordinated development of medical education and research, jointly expanding and strengthening medical disciplines, striving to achieve significant breakthroughs in scientific research and medical technology, and provide higher quality medical health services for the citizens of Yuyao City. He hoped that the Yuyao Municipal Committee and Municipal Government would continue to care for and support the construction and development of Ningbo University's Medical Department and its affiliated Yangming Hospital, jointly promoting the development of medical education and health services.
Zhang Zhenzhu and Gao Haijun signed the joint construction agreement. Yuyao People's Hospital officially became a directly affiliated hospital of Ningbo University. Effective immediately, Yuyao People's Hospital was named Ningbo University Affiliated Yangming Hospital (hereinafter referred to as the Affiliated Yangming Hospital). Yuyao People's Hospital will retain its second name.
At the end of the ceremony, leaders from Ningbo University, the Ningbo Municipal Health Commission, and the Yuyao Municipal People's Government jointly triggered the start screen, unveiling the establishment of Ningbo University Affiliated Yangming Hospital, indicating that Ningbo University and the locality have once again started a new chapter in building a collaborative development platform for medical education and research.
With the holding of the unveiling ceremony, the number of directly affiliated hospitals of Ningbo University has increased to six.
Relevant department heads from the Ningbo Municipal Health Commission; principal officials from relevant municipal departments in Yuyao City, all members of the Yuyao Municipal Health Bureau, office directors and heads responsible for medical administration of the bureau office; all team leaders and functional department heads from the general hospital of the medical consortium in Yuyao City, party and administrative leaders from sub-hospitals, and representatives of medical staff from the medical consortium; responsible persons from the Party Office (President's Office), Academic Affairs Office, Science and Technology Office, Personnel Office, Medical Specialty Class, and Technology Transfer Center of Ningbo University, all party and administrative leaders of the Medical Department; responsible persons from five directly affiliated institutions of Ningbo University who attended the ceremony.
