On November 20, the high-level academic conference of the Ningbo University Smart Healthy City Construction Key Laboratory was held in Ningbo. Li Jianguo, a member of the Party Group and second-level inspector of the Ningbo Municipal Academy of Social Sciences (Social Science Federation), officials from the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, China CDC, the relevant functional departments of Ningbo Municipal Health Commission and Ningbo CDC, responsible persons from Ningbo University's Humanities and Social Sciences Department, Ningbo University Health Science Center, researchers from the Ningbo University Smart Healthy City Construction Key Laboratory, leaders and professionals from various practical teaching bases of preventive medicine at Ningbo University, leaders and relevant staff from health bureaus and CDCs of various districts (counties, cities), as well as representatives of postgraduate students from the School of Public Health at Ningbo University, totaling more than 100 participants, attended the event.
In his speech, Wu Zhe, the director of the Patriotic Health Campaign Office of the Municipal Health Commission, fully affirmed the significant work of the Ningbo University Smart Healthy City Construction Key Laboratory in advancing the modernization of social health governance, intervening in health influencing factors comprehensively, and promoting life-cycle health services. He expressed hope that the laboratory would fully leverage the advantages of interdisciplinary integration between medicine and literature, strengthen multi-disciplinary research across various fields, strive to become a first-class and nationally renowned innovative high-end think tank for healthy city construction within the province, and provide theoretical support and intellectual backing for accelerating the construction of a higher-level healthy Ningbo at a new starting point, thereby creating a new situation for the development of a modern coastal metropolis. Tong Ying introduced the basic situation of the key laboratory and pointed out that it is necessary to continue supporting the Ningbo University Smart Healthy City Construction Key Laboratory, strengthen the construction of important think tanks for healthy cities, and advance towards becoming a provincial philosophy and social science base and key laboratory.
Xu Guozhang, Deputy Director of the Ningbo University Health Science Center and head of the Ningbo University Smart Healthy City Construction Key Laboratory, provided a detailed report on the construction background of the key laboratory, the progress made since its establishment, and the future research directions. He emphasized the need to rely on the multidisciplinary comprehensive advantages of Ningbo University, striving to make the key laboratory a new type of think tank with national influence and discourse power in healthy city construction, a high-level academic research center with Chinese characteristics, and an international scientific research cooperation laboratory along the "Belt and Road".
Researcher Mo Hongyan, Director of the Love Patriotic Health Campaign Technology Guidance Work Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of the China CDC, and Head of Education and Training Department, conducted a comprehensive analysis of the practice of healthy city work from four aspects: historical inheritance, contemporary value, practical experience, and strategic thinking of the Patriotic Health Campaign. She expressed hope that the key laboratory would leverage its professional and technical advantages to assist in the construction of healthy cities.
Dr. Li Hui, Chief of the Health Promotion Section of the Ningbo CDC, introduced in detail the evaluation system of healthy cities, interpreted the profound meanings of the three-tier indicators, reviewed the weak links and progress in five major areas of Ningbo's healthy city construction, and finally expressed a beautiful vision of jointly promoting healthy city construction with the key laboratory.
Dr. Zhang Jing, Director of the Central River Street Community Health Service Center in Yinzhou District, Ningbo, showcased through her report titled "Practice and Exploration of Community Palliative Care Services", the significant role of grassroots communities in supporting healthy city construction, providing a model for other grassroots communities on how to build healthy cities.
This high-level academic conference exchanged new progress and technologies in smart healthy city construction, pointing out the direction for the high-quality development of the Ningbo University Smart Healthy City Construction Key Laboratory. Next, the key laboratory will focus on three major research directions, utilizing emerging technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence to create a philosophical and social science innovation experimental platform, providing support for the construction of a healthy Zhejiang (healthy Ningbo).
