On November 13th, the first session of the advanced surgical technique training class, co-hosted by the Ningbo University Health Science Center and the Ninghai County Health and Wellness Bureau, was held in the multifunctional hall on the second floor of Wang Changlai Building at Ningbo University Health Science Center. The deputy directors of the Health Science Center, Xu Guozhang and Ye Meng, along with Li Hejie, the deputy director of Ninghai County Health and Wellness Bureau, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. This training primarily targets surgeons from general surgery, colorectal surgery, urology, and obstetrics and gynecology, providing hands-on training on laparoscopic surgical techniques using fresh specimens. A total of 66 trainees participated, hailing from Ninghai County First Hospital, Second Hospital, Third Hospital, Ninghai County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Ninghai County Maternal and Child Health Hospital.
Xu Guozhang and Ye Meng each gave a speech, emphasizing that the organization of this training class marks another significant milestone in deepening cooperation between the two parties to jointly advance the development of medical and health services. By introducing the latest technologies and cutting-edge concepts in the field of surgery, they aim to cultivate a group of skilled surgeons with profound professional qualities for Ninghai County and beyond, thereby enhancing the level of regional medical services.
Li Hejie expressed his high appreciation and gratitude for the organization of the training class. He viewed it as not only an important event in the development of Ninghai County's medical and health services but also as a vital opportunity to promote innovation and development in surgical medical technology. He stated that the Ninghai County Health and Wellness Bureau would continue to deepen its cooperation with the Ningbo University Health Science Center to explore new fields and pathways in surgical medical technology.
Director Qiu Lei of the Ningbo Municipal Red Cross Society Donation Office also congratulated the launch of the training class, promising that the Red Cross would continue to collaborate with the Health Science Center to contribute to the development of Ningbo's medical and health industry.
Qing Yanping, chief physician of the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University, spoke on behalf of the expert instructors. She highlighted the inseparability of medical teaching and practical operation, stressing that the training of surgeons requires a rigorous and meticulous process. She looked forward to further enhancing the participants' practical skills and clinical thinking through this training program. On behalf of the trainees, Wu Songbo, chief physician of Ninghai County First Hospital, expressed gratitude towards the Ningbo University Health Science Center and Ninghai County Health and Wellness Bureau, committing to cherish this rare opportunity for hands-on training, seek advice from experts on clinical issues, and improve their surgical skills. He believed that the training program would significantly enhance the medical standards in Ninghai County and facilitate the rapid growth of young surgeons.
The opening ceremony also featured a brief book donation ceremony, symbolizing the transmission and promotion of knowledge and skills.
Over the next five days, expert instructors and trainees will engage in an intense and enriching learning curriculum, focusing on in-depth theoretical studies and practical training in areas such as laparoscopic colorectal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, abdominal wall hernia, urology, and gynecology. This aims to enhance young physicians' endoscopy skills, helping surgeons quickly navigate the learning curve to achieve proficiency in local anatomy and complex surgical skills.
