Speaker Profile: Cong Wang

Dr. Cong Wang is an Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor. He obtained his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Ocean University of China and completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is recognized as one of the "Thousand Young and Middle-Aged Backbone Teachers in Guangxi Higher Education Institutions." Currently, he serves as a member of the Professional Committee of Mycological Chemistry, Chinese Mycological Society; a standing committee member of the Marine Pharmaceutical Professional Committee, Guangxi Pharmaceutical Association; a youth editorial board member of Chinese Herbal Medicines and Chinese Journal of Antibiotics; a reviewer for National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects and Guangxi science and technology programs; and a peer reviewer for journals including Frontiers in Microbiology, Fitoterapia, Chemistry and Biodiversity, Chinese Herbal Medicines, and Marine Drugs. He has delivered 3 keynote reports at international conferences and 10 invited/specialized talks. His research portfolio includes 1 NSFC-funded project and 7 provincial/ministerial-level research and teaching reform projects (including 1 key provincial project). His research focuses on marine drug discovery, with over 20 publications in journals such as Journal of Natural Products, Marine Drugs, Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry, and Chinese Herbal Medicines. He teaches undergraduate courses in Medicinal Chemistry and graduate courses in Advanced Natural Products Chemistry.
