Biography: Zhao Yi
Zhao Yi is a Research Fellow and Ph.D. Supervisor at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Distinguished Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the Big Data Center of West China Hospital, Sichuan University. He received his master’s degree from the Health Science Center of Peking University and his doctoral degree in bioinformatics from Tsinghua University. Since 2000, he has been engaged in research on medical data mining and artificial intelligence algorithms in medicine at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In the past decade, he has published more than 110 papers in internationally renowned journals such as Nature Methods, Cell Stem Cell, Cell Metabolism, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Hepatology, Genome Research, Trends in Genetics, and Nucleic Acids Research. Among these, 50 papers have an impact factor of over 15, 20 papers have been cited over 100 times in SCI-indexed journals, and his total citations exceed 15,000. He has been listed as a “Highly Cited Researcher” by Clarivate Analytics and a “China’s Most Cited Researcher” by Elsevier for four consecutive years. He was also named among the “Top 2% Scientists in the World” (published by Stanford University, USA) in 2020, 2021, and 2022. In 2023, he won the First Prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award (ranked first).
Academic Services: He serves as a Chinese expert member of the International RNA Society, an Associate Editor of Genomics Proteomics Bioinformatics (impact factor 12.5), an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Genetics (impact factor 4.1), and Topic Editor-in-Chief of Cancers (impact factor 6.6) and Biology (impact factor 5.1). He is also the Deputy Director of the Committee on Birth Population and Children of the China Population Association and the Deputy Director of the Committee on Biomedical Data Mining and Computation of the Chinese Society for Bioinformatics. He serves as a reviewer for key projects and outstanding youth projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
