On the afternoon of January 2nd, the first working day of 2025, the university organized the 2025 Medical Department Development Conference. The theme of the conference was: to strengthen the collaboration between medical education and practice, and to complete the clinical medicine professional certification and the application for professional degree programs with high quality. The president and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cai Ronggen, met with the representatives attending the conference. The deputy secretary of the party committee and the party secretary of the Medical Department, Zhang Zhenzhu, and the vice president, Li Weiping, attended the meeting and made speeches. The meeting was presided over by Liu Yu, the executive director of the Medical Department.
At the meeting, Liu Yu made a mobilization and deployment for the clinical medicine professional certification and the application for clinical medicine professional doctoral programs. Hu Liangen, the director of the Academic Affairs Office, introduced the importance of professional certification and the relevant work process. Liu Xunhua, the director of the Education Supervision and Teaching Evaluation Center, introduced the requirements for the preparation of relevant materials for professional certification. Gao Chao, the deputy director of the Discipline Construction Office, emphasized the relevant indicators for the application of professional doctoral programs. Fan Lin, the deputy director of the Science, Education and Cooperation Exchange Office of the Municipal Health Commission, expressed the support of the Municipal Health Commission for the clinical medicine professional certification and the application for professional doctoral programs at Ningbo University. The heads of each affiliated hospital introduced the development of the hospital and the shortcomings in the work around the theme of the meeting, and expressed that they will definitely make up for the shortcomings in a timely manner according to the relevant standards and requirements, and unite to promote the clinical medicine professional certification and the application for clinical medicine professional doctoral programs with high quality.
Li Weiping detailed the content of the "Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Further Deepening the Collaboration between Medical Education and Practice to Strengthen the Training of Clinical Medical Talents" (Guo Ban Fa [2024] No. 50) and the instructions of Mayor Tang Feifan of Ningbo Municipal Government on the document, as well as the spirit of the special meeting of the mayor held on December 24 by Vice Mayors Xu Yan and Jin Shan. He emphasized the need to strengthen the collaboration between medical education and practice, and to cultivate high-level medical talents from the needs of society and regional talents. He required the Medical Department to quickly formulate a development plan for the Fangqiao base and to start the Fangqiao base project as soon as possible. He also put forward several opinions on the personnel and talent work of the Medical Department, indicating that the university will grant the Medical Department a certain degree of personnel autonomy within the framework of the overall policy, and required the Medical Department to further strengthen the introduction and training of talents, enhance the advantages of talent aggregation; strengthen the layout of disciplines, accelerate the pace of talent introduction, and strengthen the construction of teaching and scientific research teams to give full play to the role of talents and achieve better work performance.
Zhang Zhenzhu made a summary speech. He pointed out that the university's party committee and administration attach great importance to the construction and development of the Medical Department. He fully affirmed the work performance of the Medical Department and each directly affiliated hospital in 2024, and put forward three opinions on the key work of the Medical Department in 2025: First, unify thinking, gather consensus, and fully recognize the importance of professional certification and professional doctoral application for the development of medical education; second, grasp the gap, make up for the shortcomings, and do a good job in various basic work. The Medical Department and affiliated hospitals should carefully comb around the work objectives, clarify the gaps and deficiencies, and make up for the shortcomings; third, collaborate between medical education and practice, and proceed in an orderly manner. The Medical Department should plan ahead, be good at condensing, and propose countermeasures. Each affiliated hospital should take responsibility, actively connect, and actively participate. The relevant functional departments should strengthen guidance, provide guarantees, and work together. He emphasized that 2025 started in the struggle, and he believed that through the joint efforts of everyone, overcoming difficulties, the medical education cause of Ningbo University in 2025 will surely achieve brilliant performance, and make more and greater contributions to the construction of the "double first-class" university and the advancement of Ningbo's "medical peak" plan.
