On the afternoon of November 8th, the Ningbo University Health Science Center successfully held its 2024 Annual Award Ceremony and Medical Student Oath-Taking Ceremony in the Genuine Library Auditorium. Distinguished guests including Mr. Jiang Xinghao, Chairman of Hong Kong Jiangxing International Investment Co., Ltd., his family, Mr. He Zhai, Chairman of Sheli (Ningbo) Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., Mr. Zhang Rubing, President of Beilun District Charity Federation of Ningbo City, along with Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of Ningbo University Education Development Foundation Hu Baohua, Deputy Director Sheng Peifeng from the United Front Work Department (Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office), and some members of the Party and Government Leadership Group of the Health Science Center attended the ceremony.
At the annual award ceremony, Liu Yu, the Executive Director of the Health Science Center, delivered a welcome speech, expressing heartfelt thanks to all entrepreneurs and individuals from various social sectors who have long cared for, helped, and supported the development of the Health Science Center. Following this, Mr. Jiang Xinghao, accompanied by Ms. Jiang Ying, awarded the "Jiang Xinghao Medical Talent Cultivation Award" and "Jiang Xinghao Outstanding Scholar Scholarship" winners. Mr. He Zhai and Secretary Wang Qianyong presented the "Sheli Scholarship and Grant" and "Zhang Bin Scholarship" awards to the winners, respectively. The awarded students also presented their handmade gratitude gifts and thank you letters to the donors.
Mr. Jiang Xinghao, representing the donors, congratulated the award-winning teachers and students. He encouraged everyone to bravely explore the unknown fields of medicine, adhere to medical ethics, maintain respect and reverence for life on the path to excellence, achieve academic success, and smoothly become qualified doctors.
In his concluding remarks, Hu Baohua, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Ningbo University Education Development Foundation, stated that the generous donations from the entrepreneurs are a continuation and promotion of Ningbo University's culture of gratitude. He hoped that students would remember their medical oath, repay the donors' earnest expectations with excellent results, and give back to society.
During the Medical Student Oath-Taking Ceremony, freshmen of the class of 2024 took their oath led by Dr. Ye Dong, Chief Physician at Ningbo University Li Hui-Lee Hospital. With hearts of gratitude and integrity as healers, they pledged to fulfill the mission of new era medics with their prime youth, contributing their efforts to the development of China's medical cause.
As an important part of promoting a positive academic atmosphere, the ceremony also recognized undergraduates who had received awards such as "Learning Star," "Research Star," "Erudite Star," "Reading Star," and "Service Star" during the 2024 Academic Atmosphere Building Thematic Activities. This recognition reflects the Health Science Center's achievements in building a positive academic environment over the past year. It encourages the freshmen of the class of 2024 to strive for excellence and aim to stand on the annual award stage next year.
