From October 21 to 22, Wang Qianyong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningbo University Health Science Center, along with Weng Guangcong, Director of the Audit Office, and others, visited Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University for research purposes. Peng Shifang, Director of Hospital Management Office and Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine; Xiang Rong, Deputy Director of the Audit Office; Wu Shiming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Student Work Department; Zeng Yi, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine and Vice Dean of the Undergraduate College, received Wang Qianyong and his delegation.

During the research symposium, Peng Shifang first delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Central South University, expressing warm hospitality to the visit from Ningbo University Health Science Center. He pointed out that although Ningbo University was established not long ago, it has rapidly developed into a "Double First-Class" university, which is an impressive achievement. He mentioned that the motto of Central South University is "Unity of Knowledge and Action, Applying Learning for Practical Purposes," while Ningbo University's motto is "Seek Truth from Facts, Apply Learning for Practical Purposes." Both universities share similarities in cultural heritage and educational philosophy, and they should exchange ideas and contribute together to the development of higher education in China. Wang Qianyong expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and briefly introduced the development history, inheritance, and future prospects of the school and the Health Science Center, candidly seeking advice on solving current development bottlenecks. Zeng Yi then presented information about the construction of Xiangya School of Medicine and Furong Laboratory, as well as the "High-Quality Development Plan for the Medical Field at Central South University."

In the exchange session, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the management structure and operational models of medical schools and their directly affiliated hospitals, audit supervision to promote the construction of honest and clean colleges and hospitals, joint party building efforts, innovative development of talent training models, clinical student party building work, and educational resources. Everyone agreed that the development of medical schools should focus on the goals of being practical, strong, and expansive. It is necessary to delve deeply into details while also having a broad vision, continuously strengthening and enhancing one’s own level of construction. Additionally, it is important to fully leverage Ningbo's geographical advantages to find breakthroughs in development issues based on resource strengths.

The trip to Xiangya provided a deeper understanding of this century-old prestigious institution known as "Beijing Union Medical College in the North, Xiangya in the South." It allowed participants to learn valuable medical education and management experiences from this century-old medical institution, positively impacting the promotion of Ningbo's "Peak of Medical" plan, the dual base construction of the Health Science Center, and the implementation of its medium- and long-term planning.

Additionally, Wang Qianyong and his delegation visited some alumni who have rooted themselves or are studying in Changsha. On behalf of the school, Wang Qianyong thanked the alumni for their long-standing concern and support for their alma mater. He introduced recent reforms, construction, and development situations of the Health Science Center and personally inquired about the alumni’s studies, life, and work conditions, highly praising their achievements in their respective fields. He encouraged the alumni to actively provide suggestions and promote the development of their alma mater's various undertakings. The alumni expressed their gratitude for the visit from their teachers and reminisced emotionally about their time at their alma mater. They fondly recalled their former teachers and expressed their appreciation for their alma mater’s nurturing, hoping that their school would continue to thrive.
